Reflective Narrative: Prior to taking this course I had only taken SPAN 304. I knew this course would be talking about Hispanic authors and their work. What I did not know was we were going to learn Pre-Columbian work. It was interesting to see what the Aztecs wrote and how most of their poems talked about nature or death. Furthermore, this course opened my eyes to see and understand why some authors wrote the way they did. We read the Popol Vul where it talks about the creation of man, according to the K'iche. One of the works that I found to be more interesting was the poems written by Nezahualcoyotl. It seemed surreal that we still have poems from that time. During the middle of the course we took a mid-term, which I got an A-, you may read the exam below. To conclude, I enjoyed taking this course with Professor Urioste. It showed he knew and loved what he was teaching and I am glad I learned more about literature. This course satisfied the MLO 3.
