Course Description: Reviews all phases of communication skills with practice in understanding, speaking, and writing grammatically correct Spanish. Teaches specific components of Spanish grammar: the Spanish verbal system, the subjunctive, ser versus estar, and other problematic aspects of grammar.
Reflective Narrative: At my community college I took three grammar courses. From those three courses I learned the basics about grammar, such as, how to put accents, how to conjugate verbs in three modes that exist in Spanish: imperative, subjunctive, indicate. When I chose to take this course I had in mind that I would be doing the same thing as I did in my previous grammar courses, but with more advanced grammar. Although I was not completely wrong, we learned more in depth about grammar and why certain rules applied to only some. I learned about the difference between "ser y estar" which is one of the most complicated parts of the Spanish language to teach or explain to those who do not know the language. Even when we know the language we do not pay attention to why we are using. It was fascinating to learn the "why" in the grammar world. I have definitely learned more from taking this course. I hope to further my knowledge in the linguistics area. Below is an example of work that I did during this course. This course completed the MLO 2. EXAMPLE OF WORK
