Course Description: Students will have an opportunity to practice and develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The Spanish-speaking world will provide the cultural context, and the area of business the content area.
Reflective Narrative: This course was something different from all the other grammar courses I had taken before. This course taught me how to communicate in the professional and business world. I learned what to put in a résumé, cover letter and how to act during an interview in a Spanish speaking country. Furthermore, it taught me how not all Spanish speaking countries use the same method and how we can successfully earn a job. I learned new words that we are not accustomed of using them on a regular basis in Spanish. We also did mini advertisements that we presented in front of the class. That helped me learn how in the business world there is a difference between, for example the United States with Mexico, when it comes to advertisements. Overall, this course opened doors to the business and professional world to me. I am now more aware and knowledgeable when it comes to seeking for a job and how I should go about it. Below is an example of work that I had to do. It completed the MLO 2: Language & Linguistics.
