Courses completed: Pathway 2 Local Heritage Community
Reflection: To complete this course I unfortunately did not travel abroad instead I interviewed people from my community and read The memories of Ana Calderon by Graciela Limon. This was my first time hearing about the book and when I read the beginning I loved it and it made me think of how hard it must have been for her to come to a new country and her life, at first, completely change to worse and then get better. I interviewed two people that also moved to a new country. They are a couple and the first one that came here was the husband but before he even knew her. He came to earn more money but never thought he would stay here and live. The woman came only because he wanted to come because they made more money here than in Mexico. Now they have been living in the United States more than 20 years and hope to one day return to live in Mexico.
