Course Description: Conducted in Spanish, the course introduces the principles of literary analysis, based on reading and discussion of Hispanic literary texts. Includes fiction, drama, essay, and poetry from Spain and Spanish America.
Reflective Narrative: I had never before learned about any Hispanic Literature nor was I interested in reading or learning about it. After taking this course I know want to read and learn more about the Hispanic Literature. This course was divided into three sections: short stories, poems, and theater. This was Dr. Zielina's last semester here at CSUMB and I am grateful I got to take this class with her. She shows her passion when explaining and thanks to her I know want to read more hispanic literature. Furthermore, I am now capable of analyzing a poem and I know the terms that are used to describe and analyze a poem. In the short stories section I loved reading the Magic Realism. It makes the reader determine the ending of the story in whatever way they want. Although it can be frustrating since most of the time we are used to getting the ending from the author. In conclusion, this course helped me complete MLO 3.
